About Me

I'm a comic book artist and graphic designer. I have worked in graphic design marketing, illustrated and published my works, and worked with other artists and writers on different assortments of projects. My main focus is comic books and illustration. I currently have my first graphic novel, Refrigerator Girl, published by Zmok Books. I have a personal interest in drawing pop culture and fandom-related content. I'm most well known by my social media name 'Katekomics' for my fan work. I often promote and sell my work at comic conventions and my local comic shops.

I currently work as a freelance artist working in comic art, illustration, and graphic design. I work with both individuals and companies. I've been commissioned for work by NBC Sports, and Source Point Press, and professionally published.

I attended the Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD) and Alexandria Technical and Community College (ATCC) and hold a Bachelor's in Comic Art and an Associate's in Communication Art and Design. At ATCC, I received several awards from the American Advertising Federation for my illustration and design work. After ATCC, I pursued comic art at MCAD under the instruction of industry professionals. At MCAD, I developed both my storytelling voice and proper techniques for print and publishing.

Artist Statement

Yeah, I’m an artist but, most of all I try to be a storyteller. There's something so inherently beautiful about telling a story with just some lines and color. Spinning a tale with a single image regardless of what it is. Art and design are such versatile mediums but ultimately share the same goal. To make someone feel and experience something you only had in your mind until you decided to share it with the world.

I take great joy in sharing my creativity. It is all I've ever wanted to give and the only thing I will continue to do above and beyond all expectations of others.
